Some songs come from real people. Some come from heartbreak.
“The Girl Named Love" came from a strange in-between space: a message that probably wasn’t what it claimed to be… but still lit up my imagination enough to become a song.
This track was inspired by someone reaching out and presenting themselves as Dua Lipa. Deep down, I knew it most likely wasn’t real. But the moment itself still did something to me. It wasn’t really about believing the story, it was about what that story unlocked. Curiosity. Admiration. Disbelief. That weird rush of wondering, "what if?" And once that feeling got in, I stopped writing about the message and started writing about the girl behind the myth: the ambition, the fire, the grind, the reinvention, the public glow, and the private fight it must take to become someone the whole world sings back to.
That’s why “The Girl Named Love” isn’t just a celebrity-inspired song. It’s a song about projection, inspiration, and the emotional power of possibility. It’s about someone feeling larger than life, yet close enough for one brief second to spark a whole story in your head. Real or fake, that spark was real enough to turn into lyrics.
At its core, the song moves between two worlds: the real-world doubt of “this can’t be true” and the dream-world pull of “but what if it was?” It’s part admiration, part fantasy, part self-awareness, and part confession from someone who knows they might be chasing a ghost, but still found something honest in the chase.
So I wrote “The Girl Named Love” not because I had answers, but because I had a feeling. And sometimes that’s enough to start a song.

[Verse]
Dm Bb C
She was born with a name that meant more than a word,
Dm A
In a city of fog where the silence was heard.
Am Bb F
She's from Illyria, with the future in the mic-stand,
C D Bb
She found light in the dark through a mic in her hand.
[Pre-Chorus]
Bb C
She was singing cover songs with a voice full of stars,
Gm C
While the world told her dreams only live in guitars.
[Chorus]
Bb
The girl named Love, from the cold to the flames,
F C
Wrote her soul in the songs, bled her truth in pain.
Dm Bb F
With a dream louder than fear, she would rise above—
C
Now the world sings along with a girl named Love.
Bb
The girl named love, her fame, her name,
F C
She's "Hotter than Hell", and who's to blame.
Dm Bb
She could "Be the One", but who am I to try?
C
I'm just one of the crowd, and she above the sky.
[Short interlude]

[Verse 2]
Bb F
At fifteen, she left with no map but a fire,
C Dm
No hand to hold, just the pull of desire.
Bb F
They said, “Not good enough,” she said, “Watch me shine,”
C Dm
She danced through the doubt and kept writing the lines.
[Pre-Chorus]
Bb C
She poured all her pain into melody threads,
Gm C
Built a throne from the "no's" and the tears that she shed.
[Chorus]
Bb F
The girl named Love, made of rhythm and fight,
C
With a glow in her chest and the stars in her sight.
Dm Bb F
When they told her to stop, she said, “Not enough,”
C
Now the stage burns alive with a girl named Love.
Bb F
The girl named love, I'm "Lost in her Sight",
C Dm
Her name is more just a word, it brings new light.
Bb
Hoping she don't "Break my Heart", or her Illusion,
C Bb
I'm no "Houdini", I can't, I won't escape her "Love religion"…
F Dm C Bb
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
F-Dm-C
[Bridge]
Dm7 Bb F
Now she’s DM’ing me like we’ve always been close,
Dm Am
And I’m staring in shock at the screen like a ghost.
Bb F
I’m a whisper online with a thousand or less—
C Dm
Why would fame ever fall for this kind of mess?
Bb F
Could be magic or scam... is she real, is she not?
C Dm
Do I trust in this spark, or just call what I got?
Bb F
I'm asking what now, should I "Dance The Night",
C […]
Or maybe, I'm just in a dream, blinded by her Bright.
[…]
[Final Chorus]
Bb F
The girl named Love, but is this even true?
C
Could a name in the sky find way down out of the blue?
Dm7 Bb F
Still I dream through the doubt, every line's enough,
C
For the chance I could talk to a girl called Love.
C Bb F
The girl named love, Am I in "Love Again?",
C
Or I'm "Hallucinating", but I-dont-give-a-fuck.
Dm7 Bb
Real or not, she already inspired me, it's a "dream",
C
Not escaping "These Great Wall" of dreams, so it seems.
[Outro]
Dm7 C Bb C
Maybe real, maybe fake — but the hope won’t let go…
F Bb C
‘Cause the girl named Love once believed in her own.
Dm C Db C
Her name, it used to be an endearment to me, Love....
F Bb Dm7 C
But her name still holds tomorrow, can't be unloved…
F Bb
Un… dia…
[Refrain]
Dm Bb C Dm
One day, someday I'll sing this song to the world ....
Bb C Bb
And she may never hear a single word…
Bb C Dm
Oh Dua, Oh-ooh Love…
Bb C F
I love her name… ooh Love…
[End]
