“What Will Be, Will Be” was born from a very simple feeling: being tired of carrying tomorrow on my back before tomorrow even arrives.
This song came from random thoughts, but underneath those thoughts was something real, the pressure of trying to predict every outcome, fix every uncertainty, and prepare for every possible heartbreak before life had even finished unfolding. I wrote it because I know what it feels like to chase control so hard that you accidentally stop living in the moment you’re in.
That’s why the song keeps returning to the same line: what will be, will be. Not as defeat. Not as apathy. But as release.
It’s about learning that the future isn’t something you can bully into behaving. That not every wrong turn ruins you. That some of the things you fear most end up teaching you the most. And that peace sometimes starts the moment you stop demanding guarantees from life and start trusting yourself to handle whatever comes.
I was inspired by the phrase and spirit behind “Que Sera, Sera,” but I wanted this song to feel like a more personal conversation with uncertainty - less old-fashioned destiny, more modern survival. More “I’m exhausted from trying to control everything, so maybe I need to choose presence instead.”
[Instrumental intro]
[Verse]
I’ve chased the maps in my mind till they tore at the seams,
Built castles in fog, trading moments for dreams.
But time doesn’t wait for the plans we devise,
It just sings in the silence and slips through the skies.
[Gradual Crescendo]
[Pre-Chorus]
I’ve held my breath tryin’ to guess what’s ahead,
But I missed all the stars while I stared at the thread...
[Chorus]
What will be, will be — I’m learning to trust,
The future ain’t written in fear or in dust.
Each wrong turn’s a teacher, each fall is a gift,
Every prison’s a doorway, if you choose to lift.
What will be, will be, I’m done with the worry,
What will be, will be, I'm done bracing the spill,
Whar will be, will be, I’m here for the journey…
What will be, will be ... What will be, will be.
[Verse 2]
I’ve fought the unknown like it owed me control,
As if fate was a script and I played every role.
But the more I let go, the more I arrive,
In the now, in the breathing, in being alive.
[Pre-Chorus]
[Fade in with beautiful uplifting piano and drums]
Don’t need a crystal or coin to decide,
The moment I’m in is the one I reside...
Oh-ooh....
[Chorus]
What will be, will be — I’m learning to bend,
Not every heartbreak means it’s the end.
Each season’s a chapter, not punishment due,
It’s a freedom to choose what this life gives to you.
What will be, will be, I won’t fear the unknown,
What will be, will be, I won’t climb every hill,
What will be, will be, I’ll walk with my questions…
What will be, will be, what will be, will be. Oh-ooh....
[Interlude]
[Bridge]
There’s beauty in not having all the designs,
In dancing with doubt and still reading the signs.
If I lose my way, let it be my own song,
Every stumble still moves me along...
[Final Chorus]
What will be, will be, and that’s more than enough,
I’ve made peace with the mess, even when it gets rough.
No past gonna chain me, no future will rule,
I’m learning that presence is life’s truest school.
What will be, will be, So I’ll laugh and I’ll cry,
What will be, will be, I’ll climb and I’ll chill.
What will be, will be, I will not worry,
What will be, will be, I will not feel sorry.
[Outro]
What will be, will be...
What will be, will be...
[Refrain]
[silence]
Be happy....
[End]
I’ll live every moment… what will be, will be.
[silence]
[Refrain]
Would it be ok?
Please say ok,
Wooh-ooh...
[End]
